During the beginning part of the season, NHL coaches and players quietly submitted complaints and expressed their frustration about the constant media attention on emerging star Connor Bedard, according to a report by Emily Kaplan of ESPN.
Kaplan shared,
"Earlier in the season, some veteran NHL coaches & players were quietly complaining about how much media coverage Connor Bedard was getting. But the rookie has just delivered for Chicago, again and again. Haven't heard those comments in weeks."
In a league with standout players like Connor Bedard, Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews and more, it's important for the NHL to make the most of their popularity.
Turning these players into the faces of the sport can attract more attention to the NHL, boosting both viewership and attendance, ultimately leading to increased revenue.
