The Hockey World is Sad to Announce The Passing of a 5-time Stanley Cup Champion
The hockey world is hit with another loss this week, and another loss this year as it seems the bad news keeps barreling in.
5-time Stanley Cup champion Barry Fraser has passed away at the age of 82. Fraser was apart of the Edmonton Oilers organization from 1979 until 2000 as a director of scouting.
The Oilers great sucess throughout money repetitive years would likely not have been completed without Barry himself, as he brought in the most popular names into the organization, and may be one of the best scouts ever.
''He was responsible for a lot of Edmonton's dynasty being drafted, being a vocal part of the team drafting Mark Messier, Kevin Lowe, Glenn Anderson, Paul Coffey, Jari Kurri, Grant Fuhr, Andy Moog, Steve Smith, Esa Tikkanen, Jeff Beukeboom, Kelly Buchberger, Kirk Maltby, Jason Arnott, Miroslav Satan, Ryan Smyth, Fernando Pisani, Tom Poti, Shawn Horcoff & Jason Chimera.''
Rest in Peace Barry Fraser, we offer our prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones affected.
