Children's minor hockey is apart of every hockey players childhood, and even the parents who were just as involved as the kids driving the little ones to practice early mornings, or games late at night, it is just a memorable experience all around. Sometimes things can get quite rough though, whether that means between the players, coaches, referees and even parents, it's a hockey game regardless and things can sure get heated.
Some things deserve to be taken care of off the ice, if it is not involving players in the game.
This regards a situation that recently took place in Canada, where two grown men were banned from coaching for life after a heated game sparked an alleged fight between the two coaches.
CBC News Canada reported the matter, and revealed the following information:
''The coaches from the La Lièvre de Gatineau Minor Hockey Association allegedly fought with a third coach after a stormy under-15 A game between Jets 1 La Lièvre and Remparts Gatineau on Nov. 20.
An independent disciplinary committee made its decision Nov. 27. The two suspended coaches can no longer coach minor hockey anywhere in the country.
One man suffered minor injuries in the altercation and did not need to be taken to hospital, according to Gatineau police. Police confirmed to Radio-Canada by email that they're investigating the alleged incident, but have not formally laid charges.'' Said CBC News.
One man involved in the altercation is utterly confused by the leagues decision, and Hockey Canada's to never let the men coach again throughout Canadadian hockey as a whole.
''I feel confused. I feel betrayed by the Hockey Outaouais committee. They never came to see me, to talk to me. They made decisions on facts [which rest] on just one side of the coin I did not even have the right to explain myself to these people who made decisions.''
CBC News also revealed an email received by Hockey Canada, that states the punishment received:
''In an email to CBC, Hockey Canada said it's aware of the incident, and that the bans imposed by Hockey Outaouais extend to any minor hockey association within the purview of the sport's national governing body.'' Said CBC news.
"Hockey Canada will recognize and enforce that disciplinary penalty, subject to any appeal rights that the individuals may have," Said Hockey Canada.
