Both Jonathan Toews' and Patrick Kane's futures in Chicago are still left undecided and it is truly concerning for some Blackhawks fans at the moment, what will the Blackhawks even have left if Toews and Kane decided to pack their bags?

Well, the future is what the Blackhawks will have, and will likely be the only thing to look forward too if you are a Hawks fan, and it is already shaping out greatly. The Blackhawks have many promising prospects in all positions, the highlighting prospects of them all contain forward Lukas Reichel, who is compared to a Patrick Kane type-of player, defensemen Kevin Korchinski who was drafted with the seventh overall pick which was acquired when the Blackhawks dealt Alex DeBrincat, and last but not least goaltender Arvid Soderblom, who has quickly made a great early impression at just 23 years of age.

Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews both share the same agent, Pat Brisson, who has recently stated that his players will be checking back in with the Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson come January, to see where their mindset is moving forward with the organization.

With how badly the Blackhawks season has went so far (as expected), you simply cannot blame Kane and Toews to want out if they come to make that decision.

The positive side of Kane and Toews potentially wanting out of Chicago are the assets the Blackhawks will receive if a trade is made, which will very likely land the Blackhawks a new top prospect.

A instagram account by the name of DailyPuckTalk requests his followers submit trades weekly, and one intriguing one has recently surfaced regarding Jonathan Toews being sent to the Colorado Avalanche.

The trade would send Jonathan Toews to the Avalanche in exchange for forward Alex Newhook and prospect Oskar Olausson alongside a first round draft pick.

If another draft pick would be involved favouring the Blackhawks, as much as it would hurt, this would be a huge opportunity for the Blackhawks and nearly a no-brainer for them to accept this trade.

The important thing fans need to take note of is that if Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews decide to stay with the Blackhawks for the entire season, they will hit the free agent market come summertime and the Blackhawks will get 0 value for both.

If a trade is made when the two camps circle back in January, or before the NHL's trade deadline, the Blackhawks need to hop on it (if one of, or both Kane and Toews submit their trade request).
