The NHL has been strategically adding teams throughout North America to help try to grow the game and the League.
Some turn out others haven't, and then there's the Arizona Coyotes that should be long-gone but still here thanks to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
However, one NHL franchise could be returning to the NHL:
The NHL is "very interested" in getting a team back in Atlanta, and there is a solid group that wants to make it happen.
The Atlanta Thrashers looked like they were going to be a success when they first joined the NHL back on June 25th, 1997 and began playing back in the 1999-2000 season, the Trashers had some high-end talent
They lasted a decade leaving Atlanta after the 2010-11 season before relocating to Winnipeg and being renamed the Jets.
