The Real Reason Jeff Petry Requested a Trade to Leave Montreal..
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry has been traded out of Montreal, which will hurt the team more than they expect as he has been the glue to their blue line throughout the last 3/4 years, as well as bringing a large offensive game to the table as a defenseman- Petry scored more goals than half the Canadiens forwards produced.
The reason Petry wanted out is not because of the organization, but for the country he's playing in (Canada) and their vaccination rules/policies. Petry announced he is having a fourth child shortly, a boy! The vaccination policies make it hard for Petrys wife and family in many ways, one being separated from there dad due to vaccination status, leaving mom with a handful of 3 kids- soon to be 4 at home alone.
Jeff Petry was traded alongside teammate Ryan Poehling to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Mike Matheson and a fourth round pick. Petry and Matheson both carry large contracts and similar stats, Petry benefits from going to the US with there less strict vaccination policies and Matheson benefits from going home to Montreal!
You must respect Jeff Petry in this case for making a strict family decision for the better of his family and kids.
