Max Pacioretty was traded this offseason to the Carolina Hurricanes, and he was a former Knight. Well, Max is out for the season with a knee injury. Max had 37 points in 39 games, with 19 goals and 18 assists. He is a veteran and has been in the league for 14 years and is 33 years old.
Robin Lehner is a current Golden Knight. He is also a veteran, and he is out for the season with hip surgery. He is a decent goaltender who can't stay healthy. if he can just stay healthy, he would have a better career than he does now.
News came out that Nolan Patrick will be placed on the LTIR (Long Term Injured Reserved) and will miss at minimum 1 month of the season, but likely much more, maybe even the full season. He has taken many shots to the head and has had a lot of upper body problems. And also, like Robin, he can't stay healthy. He is only 23 years old, and his career hasn't really kicked off yet, so this is a shame to see. The question that definitely is not out of the picture is as stated.. is it time for Patrick to retire? Over ten head injuries in his hockey career only a few years in, it may be time to listen to what the doctors are saying and hang up the skates.
