After making her debut at the world championship last year, Nela Lopu�anová has quickly established herself as one of the most promising female prospects globally and continues to impress at higher levels of competition. During a recent under 16 boys championship match, Lopu�anová was subjected to a brutal blindside hit by Dominik Halaj, as captured on video.

In the latter stages of the second period, Halaj crossed the ice and hit Lopu�anová, sending her flying. Despite her teammates coming to her defense, Halaj was given a two-minute minor for charging. Although Lopu�anová returned for the third period, she was taken down once again and sustained a severe wrist injury less than five minutes into the period.
