With Vancouver leading the 2011 Western Conference Quarter-Finals 3-2, Game 6 was a must-win for Chicago. Heading into the 3rd period, the Canucks were also leading the game, 3-2, when Blackhawks winger, Michael Frolk got taken down in front of Schneider's net. A penalty shot was awarded, and Frolk made it count to tie the game.
In trying to stop that shot, Cory Schneider suffered an injury to his right leg, and had to be taken out of the game. He was replaced by Roberto Luongo, who hadn't even been on the bench, and was watching the game from the locker room. Luongo kept them in the game for the rest of the period, though, and the game went into overtime.

Just 30 seconds in Marián Hossa passed the puck to Niklas Hjalmarsson. He took the long shot, the rebound flew off a flailing Luongo, and landed in front of a ready and waiting Ben Smith. Game 7 was forced when Ben beat Roberto.

Michael Frolk, who had come to Chicago from Florida, part way through the season, played 28 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 3 goals and accumulating 3 assists. His playoff penalty shot goal was one of two of his career (second against Detroit in 2013) making him the first payer in NHL history to score two playoff goals on penalty shots.

Ben Smith only played 6 games for Chicago in the 2010-11 season, and scored 1 goal. He stayed with the Blackhawks for 61 games into the 2014-15 season, but was eventually traded to San Jose.
