Hockey community mourns loss of young star killed in car crash

Heavy hearts in the hockey community mourn the loss of 16 year old hockey star Will Neeb, who was with the 16U AAA Connecticut Chiefs
It is with saddened news that we share the devastating news of the passing of 16-year old young hockey star William Neeb, a 16 year old AAA full-season player.
William was an outstanding hockey player, leading his team in scoring with 25 points in 22 games played this season.
Neeb, 16, passed away in a car accident involving an SUV. His talent and passion for the game were made clear to all around him and those who watched him play, coaches Ike Corriveau and Trent Thomas noted Will's skills at the CT High School All-Star game.
"Shortly after being recruited for the 16U AAA Full Season team, Will immersed himself in training with Coach Trent, driven by his unwavering love for hockey. Will's relentless work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership by example made him not only a standout athlete but also a beloved teammate. His presence on and off the ice will be deeply missed."
Neeb «succumbed to injuries from a motor vehicle accident», according to a post on Facebook by
New MilfordWill also played lacrosse, and the team shared their heartfelt condolences alongside a message:
"He was an outstanding athlete and a favorite with his coaches and teammates. Will showed leadership and selflessness on the field, and always set an excellent example for the players around him. He will be remembered as a kind, polite, coachable, and all around great kid."
At his memorial, Will's friends, teammates and family sat in silence for 12 minutes to honor the fallen hockey star, who wore #12.
Will's work ethic and positive attitude, echoed by coaches and his peers, will deeply be missed.
