The Vancouver Canucks have made an official move, loaning Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Elias Pettersson to Sweden for the World Juniors.
Before you get shocked, this isn't the star forward Elias Pettersson you might be thinking of; it's the team's prospect with the same name who plays as a defenseman.
The prospect Elias Pettersson, selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (#80 overall) of the 2022 draft, is set to make a significant impact as part of Team Sweden in this year's World Juniors, hosted in Sweden.
With expectations high for the talented young defenseman, the Canucks are looking forward to seeing him showcase his skills on the international stage.
Keep an eye out for this promising player as he takes on the competition at the World Juniors.
