No doubt, a move resulting from Marchand's nature as a pest on ice, decided in the 3rd period to level Viktor Arvidsson with an elbow.
One of the NHL's most hated players benefited from NHL largesse, as the referees didn't give Marchand a penalty.
The Boston Bruins must have experienced some kind of Karma today, as they would end up losing to the Kings 5-4.

The hit would happen in the neutral zone, where Marchand would line up with Arvidsson, and hit him with the elbow.
Arvidsson, all the while did lose his position on the ice, hunting for the puck which made him a prime target for Marchand.
In doing so, it was a perfect meeting of Elbow and face between the two players and Arvidsson was seen later on the bench being treated for what was bleeding from the mouth or gums.
Brendan Gallagher has been suspended for five games for an illegal check to the head on Adam Pelech.pic.twitter.com/TlAgNQZ24i Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) January 26, 2024
The hit was an illegal hit, which should have George Parros and the Department Of Player Safety in action already.
The most recent offender who received this kind of discipline was the Montreal Canadiens Brendan Gallagher, who leveled Adam Pelech with a similar hit.
While Marchand's hit wasn't as brutal as Gallgher's on Pelech, the discipline would give Parros to set a standard for these kinds of hits.
We will now have to wait and see if the DOPS will pursue supplemental discipline for the hit.
