There was some huge news in the world of the Chicago Blackhawks over the last 48hrs. Of course it started with captain Jonathan Toews announcing he would be returning for the 2021-22 season, however that unfortunately was followed by trade news. The Blackhawks are working on a trade to move Duncan Keith. Some more details have emerged regarding the trade possibility and it looks like it was started by Keith. Blackhawks' insider Scott Powers spoke to a source within the organization and gave an update. «We weren't looking to move him, but it was initiated by Duncan,» a source said. «He'd like to be closer to his son. He's getting older, and Duncan didn't get to see him much last season. We understand that.»We know he wants to be closer to Western Canada but of course the trade will take some work considering Keith's age and cap hit. Various reports have the Vancouver Canucks having already dropped out of any trade talks leaving the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets and Seattle Kraken as the likely destinations.
