Connor Bedard faces uncomfortable interaction in public
Team Canada star Connor Bedard is taking his first World Hockey Championships tournament he was greeted on Prague metro where a photo was taken of him with a fan and both looked very uncomfortable.
Even though the exchange looked unpleasant Bedard himself is feeling in an uncomfortable place lately as he struggled and remains scoreless in his last three games. He has had the second least amount of ice time for the team and has not registered any shots on goal during the Switzerland game.
Many NHL players have played full seasons with their respective teams and having to jump into this tournament right after a long 82 game season certainly would cause some to hit a wall including Bedard.
However, Canada has improved to 6-0 and remains undefeated as Team Canada beat Switzerland 3-2. Canada now holds the lead in the Group A standings with 17 points and will face off against Czechia who was right behind them.
With the amount of talent and depth of this team, it's likely that Bedard can find his way back into the championship with a stronger effort as the pressure will not fault strictly on his shoulders.
He will get another chance as Canada will face off against Czechia as the tournament continues.
