Don Cherry Doubles Down on 'You People' Saying in Latest Christmas Wish to Fans
On Christmas Day, Don Cherry doubled down on his comments that lead to him being fired a few years back during Hockey Night in Canada on "Coach's Corner".
«You people that come here whatever it is, you love our way of life, you love our milk and honey, at least you could pay a couple of bucks for a poppy,»
Is the one sentence that lead to Don Cherry being fired, and Hockey Night in Canada not being the same moving forward without Mr. Cherry.
Cherry is well known for his comments and strong opinions on people, Cherry will never issue an apology as he is a man of his word and opinions.
Cherry decided to step down, deciding it was the "right time".
In an interview with the Toronto Sun , Cherry stated he has not witnessed any changes in respect to his country, Canada.
«I don't see any change. You go downtown. You don't see any poppies. I have no regrets about the poppy. I have regrets when I see guys on television and I think I could've gone on for another couple of years but it was time to go,»
Cherry stated.
Despite being fired in 2019, Cherry remains a well known face in Sports and one of the most liked faces in the hockey world.
In his post, wishing a Merry Christmas "to all you people", hundreds of comments flooded in wishing Mr. Cherry a Merry Christmas as well.
