In a tweet on the X platform, the Edmonton Oilers organization announced that assistant general manager Brad Holland has agreed to mutually part ways.
This change continues to show the remodelling of the management of the Oilers as CEO Jeff Jackson continues to put his stamp on this organization. Holland was a scout in 2019 and was promoted to assistant general manager to work alongside his father Ken Holland. It's become clear that Jackson is looking for a different approach in a different direction.
The Oilers have stated that this will allow Holland to pursue other opportunities in the NHL. Jackson has not been shy in terms of his moves and how he feels the team should move forward as he has hired former Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman to run the team, he has made several July free agency pickups when he was the interim general manager that has changed the dynamic of the organization.
He's also made some shrewd trades to help restock covered in their prospects and add more depth to their AHL franchise in Bakersfield California.
It's safe to say it's not a matter of if Holland can find a new job it's likely when he will find himself a new position.
