Hockey Goaltender Dimitris Skotis Tragically Passes Away At The Young Age Of 28
Hockey World Mourns Loss Of 28-Year Old Greek-Born Goaltender On Monday
The hockey world, and especially the world of sports in Greece is suffering a terrible loss in their community in the passing of 28-year old goaltender Dimitris Skotis.
Skotis played his first pro-hockey season just one year ago, after working towards making it for several years.
The Greek-born goaltender played eight games in the AIHL (Athens Ice Hockey League) last year with several different teams, including the Athens Cyclopes, Titans and Minotaurs.
We regret to inform you of the passing of Dimitris Skotis. at the age of 28.
Skotis played eight games in the top flight hockey league in Greece last season, with the Athens Cyclopes, Athens Titans, and Athens Minotaurs.

Skotis went 3-5-0 throughout his eight starts in goal, while numbers do prove skill level in most cases, that was not the case for him. He was developing at a later age, showing big promise.
According to teammates and players in the hockey social of Greece, he was a very well-liked goaltender by his peers and teammates.
The reason for Skotis' passing has not been stated.
This is devastating news, and we would like to take the time to send our thoughts, prayers to the family and friends of Dimitris.
