One of Stan Bowman's most interesting moves this offseason was signing Vezina Trophy candidate Robin Lehner to a one year deal. The goalie who could have been a starter on many teams around the league walks into a situation where Corey Crawford has been the man for quite sometime. At $5million for one year, Lehner probably expects to play more than 10-15 games after going 25-13-5 last year with the Islanders and registering a 2.13 goals against average and .930 save percentage. So what exactly is the plan considering head coach Jeremy Colliton arguably has two starting goalies on his roster?"There's going to be competition, certainly," Colliton said. "But I think you look at the teams that have had success, there has been a share — some sort of split. It's not 60, 70 games one guy's taking. Those games that maybe traditionally the backup is playing, we need to win those too. So now whoever is in the net, we're going to get an extremely high level of performance. And if we happen to be unlucky with injuries, we have some protection there too." The Blackhawks made a lot of changes this summer and Colliton is a heavy believer in them. "I think we can win in different ways and we're prepared to have an excellent season, hopefully."You can't really complain about having a two time Stanley Cup winner and a Vezina Trophy nominee battling for time between the pipes.
