Jonathan Toews linked to surprise Western Conference team in NHL return per report
It's been reported that former Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has a strong interest to return to the NHL after a long layoff with long COVID-19 to which Oilersnation Everyday host Tyler Yaremchuk thinks he has a place with the Oilers.
Toews had decided to walk away from the NHL as he battled through several elements including long COVID-19.
Since then, he has emerged back on the NHL new cycle that he feels ready to come back to the game he loves to play and would like to go to a contender to win another Stanley Cup.
"There's a part of me that really doesn't feel like my career is over yet, and who knows what the next part of my journey looks like."
Toews Ready For His Comeback
It was clear that the Blackhawks had decided it was time to part ways with Toews much like they did with Patrick Kane after general manager Kyle Davidson announced that he would not be resigning Toews to a new deal,
The potential reunion between the Blackhawks and Toews is highly unlikely an adding a player of his caliber and his experience as a three-time cup winning player along with being a captain would bode well for the Oilers as he would strengthen their team down the middle and give them a chance to win their next Stanley Cup.
It remains to be seen whether former Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman who now runs the Oilers would consider bringing his old captain back into his new team.
The Oilers are in a win now mode and adding players of this pedigree is what is needed for the Oilers currently.
