There's been rumors swirling as far as the future of Jeff Skinner in Buffalo goes, and it appears GM Kevyn Adams has shifted priorities.

As the team, will buyout Jeff Skinner's contract and will end up a free agent on July the 1st.

Will GM Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks use a minimal amount of cap space to acquire Jeff Skinner?

He is a viable option as a linemate for Connor Bedard and should already be on Kyle Davidson's radar. Following his buyout, he shouldn't command too high of a salary to hurt the Hawks all the while.

The 6' 200 pound winger, was a 1st round draft pick in 2010, 7th overall. He followed up his 35-goal, 82-point season in 2023, with a 46-point season, scoring 24 goals.

He is a consistent goal scorer, scoring 24, 35, and 33 goal seasons, on a rebuilding Buffalo team. He could also provide veteran leadership, and give the offense a boost as well.

His last 40-goal season was in 2019 with the Buffalo Sabres as well.

It's an unexpected move from the Buffalo Sabres, as he is a productive forward, but they have to buy out Skinner's $10 Million AAV contract to free up cap space.

«This is not breaking news. Friedman and Marek were talking about this a week ago.

Multiple sources have confirmed to me that the Sabers will buy out the final 3 years of Skinner's contract, barring an unforeseen trade.

I discuss his career in Buffalo and the reasoning for this decision.
