As the trade deadline approaches, the Calgary Flames and Craig Conroy are finally getting active.

Flames are in the process of rebuilding, so they will have to trade some veterans.

In the summer, American-born defenseman Noah Hanifin sought a trade.

Hanifin had requested to be moved to an American team, with the Tampa Bay Lightning appearing to be the front-runners for the Flames defenseman.

Vegas Golden Knights, however, ended up having the upper hand in the deal all along.

It is a great opportunity for Noah Hanifin to be joining a playoff contender and a former Stanley Cup-winning team.

Miromanov looked to be getting pinched out of the Golden Knights' plans on defense with the acquisition of Hanifin, so this move gives the 26-year-old Russian a fresh start. Miromanov has played in 29 career games, compiling seven points 43 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over the last three seasons. He could get a look in a bottom-six role once he reports to Calgary.

For Hanifin, the Vegas Golden Knights are sending Daniil Miromanov.

The deal involves 3 teams, more details when we get them.

Noah Hanifin has played 659 NHL regular season games, posting 60 goals and 214 assists for 274 points. He began his career with the Carolina Hurricanes and was moved as part of a deal that sent himself and Elias Lindholm to the Calgary Flames, on June 23, 2018.

The deal sent Dougie Hamilton, Michael Ferland, and at the time prospect, Adam Fox to the Carolina Hurricanes.
