Chicago Blackhawks in motion to acquire biggest trade piece on the NHL market
Trevor Zegras to the Chicago Blackhawks in motion
There's been rumors since March that the Anaheim Ducks could deal the former Calder Trophy runner-up.
Teams such as the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers have been making an effort to check in on Zegras.
According to Adam Gretz of the Bleacher Report, there are 3 potential destinations for Trevor Zegras.
Chicago Blackhawks
As the Blackhawks and GM Kyle Davidson will attempt to add talent enough to become contenders eventually, this fit seems like it'd be natural.
Just imagine Connor Bedard and Trevor Zegras on the same line, along with the 2nd pick in this year's draft, Zegras could fit the Blackhawks' timeline during the rebuild, as a 23-year-old.
The only question is what will the Blackhawks have to give up for the skillful forward? Could it be a top-defensive prospect like, Ethan Del Mastro? Or a high pick?
«I continue to be very bullish on Trevor Zegras,» Buccigross told ESPN's Greg Wyshynski. «I think he has a Pavel Datsyuk ceilingonce he slowly maturesin terms of hands. When your hands are so good offensively, they should be good defensively, right? That's what Datsyuk was. That's what Evgeni Malkin was on the wallhe could strip guys with the puckturnover, pass, scoregoal; that's what he did as a young man. He still does it now. I think once Zegras learns that, he can have that kind of game.» He will also have the capability of building upon his prior 23 goal seasons and rebound, from his injury-riddled 2023-2024 season.
Zegras has played 211 NHL games, scoring 154 points( 55 G, 99 A) and 180 PIMS during his 4 year NHL career.
