Will Patrick Kane return to Chicago? Kyle Davidson makes the final decision:

During the Combine in Buffalo, the story is centered around Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov, and Artyom Levshunov as the consensus 1st and 2nd overall picks.

But of course, being in Patrick Kane's hometown means there'll be questions about the superstar's status with the Blackhawks.

"Showtime" will not appear again in the Windy City according to GM Kyle Davidson as he shot down those rumors, quickly.

Kane recently was a part of the Detroit Red Wings squad who made a push to secure a wildcard spot in the playoffs but was unable to follow through.

Just talked to Kyle Davidson at the NHL Combine in Buffalo.

Notably, he shot down any possibility of a Patrick Kane reunion:

"He did have a really good year. I think we're all really happy to see that... [But] we made some really tough decisions on some longstanding players. I don't foresee us going back on that."

He would say "goodbye" to Hockeytown, Detroit, and is currently in search of greener pastures in order to secure one-more Stanley Cup before retirement.

Kane could easily fit underneath the Blackhawk currently salary cap surplus of $33 Million.

But that money is for RFA's and UFAs who have priority over a person whose legacy has defined the Blackhawks for the last decade.

Kane's last cap hit was a discount for Steve Yzerman, at $2.75 Million AAV for the year.

All the while, he was nearly a point-per-game player in Detroit, scoring 47 points in 50 games with the Red Wings.

With Kyle Davidson's statement being loud and clear, it seems likely that there will be no retreads with past stars right now.
