Major development for the Blackhawks to acquire Leafs Mitch Marner
According to reports Mitch Marner is likely to be traded in the off-season. There are now five suitors for the 95-point winger.
DailyFaceoff's Frank Seravalli recently discussed Mitch Marner's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs. His return isn't certain according to the NHL Insider.
The odds of Mitch Marner returning next year as a Leaf feel as low as 5%.
"I think there's a five percent chance or maybe even less that he'll be a Leaf next season."
There appear to be 5 major suitors for Mitch Marner's talents:
Of those 5 which include the Anaheim Ducks, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins and Utah HC, the Chicago Blackhawks are one.
Given that Marner has yet to draw up an NMC, it's hard telling where he will land, but given the Blackhawks want to improve offensively, as one of the bottom-dwelling teams in the league, signing Marner would be very helpful.
But, it depends upon where Marner's priorities lie, as the New York Islanders barely made it into the playoffs, and the Penguins were pushed out of a Wild card spot last season as well.
