Kyle Dubas, the current General Manager of the Penguins, has decided to re-tool the team with a new mandate.
Despite having top players like Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin, Dubas plans to trade Jake Guentzel, one of the team's top players.
There have been rumors circulating about Crosby leaving Pittsburgh since the Penguins are sinking, and Guentzel is likely to leave.
Crosby's name has come up in trade-talks, and the Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs are two of the destinations being discussed. According to sources, Crosby is willing to waive his NTC to be sent to the Maple Leafs.
According to a good source he gave three teams he'd be ok with IF they approached him about a trade now or offseason #Leafs #Avalanche on the list.. nobody said Leafs would acquire him today or tmrw but they're on his list IF they wanted to get serious. https://t.co/6NRJcP2bdF IB THE GAMBLER (@incarceratedbob) March 7, 2024
If this is true, Sidney Crosby wants to get another shot at the Stanley Cup and moving to either franchise would ensure a chance at the playoffs. However, the math would have to be figured out.
Nope! Actual former NHL players with connections send them and they've nailed plenty of rumors over the past 13 years, also maybe you should learn how to read tweets better! Nobody said he was being traded in my tweet READING IS DIFFICULT pic.twitter.com/geV1znLa0r IB THE GAMBLER (@incarceratedbob) March 7, 2024
It would involve a re-imagining of the Leafs as a franchise, with multiple pieces which Kyle Dubas would want in return heads to Pittsburgh.
Dubas would likely receive a nice haul from the Avalanche as well, as the trade would reach Blockbuster level.
But for now, until news develops these are just rumors.
