Davidson could easily afford to offer him a shorter term and sell on the possibility of playing with Connor Bedard to help entice him here, as a veteran leader.

$6.5 Million could be affordable for Davidson and get him short-term leadership and a linemate for Bedard, to help push the team into winning territory.
