According to Corey Pronman of The Athletic, the Blackhawks have the second-best prospect pipeline in the league.
With a deep pool of prospects, they hope to continue shaping the team into a contender under Kyle Davidson while also preparing NHL-caliber players.
One of these prospects is Ethan Del Mastro, a defenseman who played for the Mississauga Steelheads and Sarnia Sting during the final year of his OHL career.
In 38 games with the IceHogs this year, Del Mastro has produced 18 points, including 4 goals and 14 assists.

Del Mastro was initially known as a one-way shutdown defenseman, but he has since rounded out his game and developed his offensive skills.
He has drawn comparisons to Brent Seabrook due to his towering size of 6'4" and physical style of play.

His skills have earned him a spot in the AHL All-Star game, which he achieved in his first year with the IceHogs.
Del Mastro continues to impress, and will hopefully be there to man the Chicago blue line soon enough.
