The Chicago Blackhawks are reportedly exploring a potential trade for struggling Vancouver Canucks winger Andrei Kuzmenko, according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.
This comes after the two teams engaged in a December trade involving Anthony Beauvillier. The Blackhawks, seeking veteran support, are eyeing Kuzmenko, who is in the first year of a two-year, $11 million contract.
In a best-case scenario, Kuzmenko could bolster Chicago's top-six forwards, addressing their need for scoring alongside rookie standout Connor Bedard.
However, with Vancouver's strong goal production, they might prioritize a center in the trade. Kuzmenko, currently with eight goals, faces a potential move to rediscover his form.
