Samuel Savoie, considered to be the successor of Andrew Shaw, who played a hard-nosed two-way game.
Capable of agitating opponents, like usual, and playing the style of hockey coaches love.
That's what Samuel Savoie embodies, and unfortunately during pre-season hockey he was injured. He would endure surgery and luckily for him, recovered in Chicago with Blackhawks staff and would end up skating by January after being told his body would determine his recovery.
In February he'd debut with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, and he also had Nick Foligno to thank for his mentorship during his recovery in Chicago.
Now, it's the off-season and Savoie's season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies ended, his fourth in the QMJHL has arrived in Rockford and will help reinforce the IceHogs during the upcoming AHL playoffs.
Savoie, had a shortened season in the QMJHL with the Huskies, playing only 21 games with a 22 points ( 10 G, 12 A) in the league.
