The Chicago Blackhawks, like many team prior to the draft and free-agency exercise options available to them, to shed cap and inactive players.

One of those Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks recently had to part ways with was a draft pick in the 4th round of 2020 NHL Draft, 110th overall.

According to Dobber Prospects, he was characterized as a two-way defenseman, but mostly a defensive-defenseman.

The #Blackhawks are not expected to sign Michael Krutil to an ELC. After spending parts of his DY+1 and DY+2 in Rockford he's bounced around Europe ever since.

While he had good size and good capabilities, he last played in the Blackhawks system, in 2021-2022 with the Rockford IceHogs, where he only suited up in 7 games in the AHL.

Since then, he has been floating around Europe and spent his last season split between three teams in Czechia.

Mainly: HC Sparta Praha, Motor Ceske Budejovice and HC Stadion Litomerice.

If the Blackhawks do not exercise their option to sign him today, which it sounds like they won't and will lose their exclusive signing rights to Krutil.
