News broke today on the sick podcast hosted by Tony Marinaro that the projected second overall pick Artyom Leshunov may face serious cheating allegations according to former amateur recruiter Grant McCagg.

It appears that the allegations are stating that Levshunov maybe older than he's letting on as he is currently registered as 18 years old. There have been stories that have surfaced of Russian players whose age has been falsified to get a better chance into certain leagues including the NHL.

Though these claims are unsubstantiated, it remains to be seen on whether this would affect general manager Kyle Davidson's decision on who he will draft as the second overall choice. It's been widely reported that the Blackhawks are in the market for a defenseman as they face a dilemma on who they will choose between Ivan Demidov or Levshunov.

Levshunov completed his freshman year with Michigan State University and stands at six foot two 209 lbs. He played 38 games, scoring nine goals of 26 assists for 35 points with 44 penalty minutes and was a + 27.

There are many questions on what the Blackhawks will do overall in this draft after the team made a trade with the New York Islanders last week that raised some eyebrows that may signal a bigger and more complex trade is to come.

The NHL Entry Draft will be taking place in Las Vegas Nevada and the first round will begin on June 28th at 7:00 PM eastern.
