Today, Hockey fans got some big news: Dylan Larkin won't be suiting up for Team USA at the upcoming IIHF Men's World Championship in Czechia. Alongside this announcement came the addition of nine fresh faces to the team, boosting hopes for the tournament.

Larkin's absence is a real blow. He was expected to lead the team as captain, unfortunately, an injury has put those plans on hold.

For Larkin, missing out on this opportunity is tough. Representing your country is a huge honor, and he was all set to do just that.

Wearing the USA jersey and competing against the world's best players is a dream for many, but it'll have to wait for Larkin.

NOTES: Dylan Larkin, who was previously announced as part of Team USA, is unable to compete due to injury The U.S. finished fourth in last year's world championship and for the first time ever won its first eight games in the men's world championship Team USA has finished in the top four in seven of the last 10 men's world championships with four bronze medals to its credit.

With Larkin out, there's a sense of disappointment for American and Detroit Red Wings fans. We now hope Larkin can take this off-season to fully recover from the multiple injuries sustained throughout the NHL regular season.
