The NCAA has announced the finalists for their covenant Hobey Baker award (NCAA MVP), and it sees a Hawks prospect involved in the voting.
Notre Dame's own, Landon Slaggert, is a finalist for the Hobby Baker award.
Slaggert was a 3rd round pick in the 2020 draft by the Blackhawks and has flourished ever since. Slaggert is now 21 years old and is still unsigned by the Hawks. The Irish Captain has 16 goals and nine assists, totaling up to 25 points in 26 games, a nearly point-per-game player this year.
Landon has the potential to be great in the NHL, and that just adds on to the forward list for the Hawks. Next step: defenseman. The future is bright in Chicago, and fans should be excited for what's to come in the next few years. Just sitting back and watching these young men grow is going to be a treat, like it has been with Alex Vlasic this year.
