As the NHL season rolls closer to the March trade deadline, it seems that teams are making decisions on some of their players especially players that are on the end of their deals. The Blackhawks have been making several moves over the past couple of days including re signing Nick Foligno and Petr Mrazek to new term.

Last evening, the Blackhawks made another move where they decided to activate forward Samuel Savoie who has been on injury reserve since training camp back to the juniors.

The 19-year-old centre who was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2022 in the third round has been pegged by eliteprospects.com as a player who has no issue with plastering his opponent along the boards.

His toughness and his style of play has been credited to being like former Blackhawks Andrew Shaw. It seems the team is wanting that style of play as they continued to rebuild their roster.

It seems that general manager Kyle Davidson has high hopes for Savoie especially when it will come to defending and protecting players like Connor Bedard. Bringing that snarl and aggressive play will make the Blackhawks tougher to play against as this is becoming a theme across the league.

The Blackhawks will continue their Alberta swing when they meet the Calgary Flames on the road. It will be held on January 27th and game time will be 10:00 PM eastern.
