Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard crossed another milestone in his career as he potted 3 assists in the Blackhawks victory against the Anaheim Ducks.
This achievement is the 11th career multi assist game for Bedard who is now tied with Blackhawks legend Bobby Hull for the second most as a Blackhawks teenager and is behind Patrick Kane who has 13. The start of this season for both the Blackhawks and Bedard has been very inconsistent as the team continues to merge many new players into the lineup in hopes that they would gel quickly and translate to wins.
Head coach Luke Richardson spoke about Bedard and his lack of goals and is pleased with his efforts.
"Much better game today than [he had] yesterday. He was moving his feet better and playing a smarter game, where he was above and made them try to go through us and it created a couple of breakaway chances."
Bedard has only scored three times this season but has been heavy with the assists which is a good contribution to the Blackhawks no matter the case. Despite his start, Bedard continues to show his professionalism and growing leadership of the team as the win is the Blackhawks second in a row after beating the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday 4-3 in a shootout.
The win also improves the Blackhawks to 5-7-1 and saw Isaak Phillips, Teuvo Teravainen, Seth jones and Ryan Donato who scored during this contest. Goaltender Arvid Soderblom had made 37 saves, and it has been his first start since October 19th.
This concludes their six-game road trip which saw the Blackhawks have a record of 3-3-0 and now headed back to the Windy City where they will play the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday November 6th and game time will be 8:00 PM eastern.
