Blackhawks Bedard gets shamed by former NHL defensemen
Former NHL defenseman Jason Demers stirred up some talk by sharing his opinion on the Calder Trophy race.
Demers boldly stated that Brock Faber deserves the award more than highly praised prospect Connor Bedard.
On social media, Demers pointed out Faber's impressive stats, like his 40 points as a rookie defenseman, his hefty ice time averaging 25 minutes per game, and his contributions on special teams. He encouraged others to rethink their views and recognize Faber's stellar play.
" [Jason Demers] I'm sorry Brock Faber is the Calder winner this year.. I want to see someone convince me otherwise! BEDARD IS A SUPERSTAR but he's not the Calder trophy winner this year! 40 pts for a first year defenseman, 25 min average a game, plays PP and PK.
Everybody needs to open their eyes!"
This sparked debates among hockey fans about the Calder Trophy and the standout rookies this season.
