This led to Toews exploding on the bench telling Crosby to stay on his skates and that it was weak. Crosby then came back stating that he was can opened.
Both players shared competitive ice for many years to which Crosby is still playing at 36 years old. Toews, who has yet to hang up his skates decided to declare himself unable to play after contracting long COVID during the COVID pandemic.

Toews has kept a low profile since his departure from the Blackhawks and it remains to be seen on whether he will ever play hockey again or eventually retire from the game officially and continue his chapter without the NHL.
