Blackhawks complete several moves to ensure Connor Bedard's second NHL season
After the NHL Draft, the Blackhawks sought to improve their lineup through free-agency additions and trades.
Fortunately for GM Kyle Davidson, he was able to add major talent during July to help catapult the Blackhawks higher in the rankings.
All to ensure a successful season for Bedard as well.
Key additions:
The 29-year-old forward is known for his scoring capabilities mixed with a sandpaper style of play. GM Kyle Davidson has locked him down for four years, and in 2023-2024, with the Toronto Maple Leafs scored 43 points(21 G, 22 A) in 80 games.
Teuvo Teraveinen
The former Blackhawk, now returns after being traded in 2016 a year after the Blackhawks last cup run. Turbo signed on with the Blackhawks for 3 years, and the 29-year-old is ready to help push the Blackhawks into winning territory.
Laurent Brossoit arrives to Chicago, from Winnipeg and has won one Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights. Brossoit will back up and balance out the goalie depth, as Petr Mrazek continues to be #1 in the net.
Brossoit was 15-5-2, 2.00 GAA, and a .927 save percentage under Rick Bowness' led Winnipeg Jets.
Martinez won his last Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 and will be reuniting with Brossoit in Chicago. Not only will his veteran leadership be a great addition to the Hawks, but his playoff experience will make him a great mentor for the younger Blackhawks squad.
Martinez scored 17 points in 55 games with the Knights last season and is excited to offer his skills to usher in a new era in Blackhawks hockey.
Pat Maroon
The 36-year old enforcer still has gas left in the tank, as a three-time Stanley Cup champion. Scoring 16 points in 49 games with the Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins. The forward will bring nothing but chaos as he is an agitator and a tough guy which you need sometimes.
