Both players remained on the ice after practice and it was shown that Connor Murphy was attempting to skate as hard as possible while pulling Connor Bedard behind the rope. Whether this was a training exercise for strengthening and skating or both players just having a little fun after a practice shows that Bedard has a love of the game and wants to help his teammates.
Bedard is hoping to build off his Calder winning year as this edition of the Blackhawks will be far better than the last. General manager Kyle Davidson went out onto the market on July 1st and spent some significant money on his forward group, defence and goaltending.
Bedard will be surrounded by better players this year including Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, the return of Taylor Hall, Tj Brodie and Laurent Brossoit to name a few. Blackhawks have also left open $6.6 million in cap space if they wish to acquire more talent if their season is going well.
The Blackhawks also hoped for better success with their young players including Lukas Reichel, Kevin Korchinski, Frank Nazar and potentially this year's 2nd overall draft pick Artyom Levshunov who is currently nursing a hurt foot which will keep him out of the lineup for the next 4 weeks.
The Blackhawks will now go on the road and face off against the St Louis Blues as the team continues to show off its revitalized lineup. After their disappointing losses against the Detroit Red Wings, the team hopes to rebound and put a win on the board.
Game time will be at 7:00 PM eastern.
