Blackhawks' Darren Pang throws fired broadcaster Chris Vosters under the bus
Member of the Blackhawks wanted broadcaster Chris Vosters fired
Last week, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that play-by-play voice, Chris Vosters, would be replaced by longtime broadcaster Rick Ball.
Many believed that it was due to his poor broadcasting, hence why he was fired, which sure played a part but according to reports, is not the only relationship.
Published reporters revealed that a 'strained relationship' with fellow Blackhawks analyst Darren Pang played the biggest role in his firing.
Chicago Suntimes revealed that a 'change of heart' and an awkward relationship with Darren Pang. Pang rejoined the Blackhawks organization in the 2023-24 season and frequently works with TNT as well as the NHL Network.
Vosters was typically out of place, having his broadcasting history backed by baseball and basketball- it was much different than the game of hockey. He had big shoes to fill in replacing the legendary voice of Pat Foley.
Some say Vosters was setup for failure even before calling his first game, but what has happened cannot be changed as we welcome Rick Ball to the organization.
