When Seth Jones skated out on the ice to start last night's game, he was met with a lot of boos and some cheers as well. But there's a reason for that. Jones is making $9.5 million per year for the next six years with a no movement clause (NMC), meaning the Blackhawks can't trade him if Seth doesn't waive his clause.

Jones said, 'they're paying for a product they're not getting' (fans)

When the contract was signed, no one was happy with it, and after his poor play so far this season, it only made things worse.

The game against the Calgary Flames, two games ago on the 13th, is what brought fans the most up in arms over Jones, as it was his worst game yet.

This play on the power play, in particular, when he brought the puck out of the zone, threw it blindly behind him, turned it over, and the Flames scored off of it. To add, after the play, he went to swing the puck out of the net and fanned.

However, ever since the dad's trip started, he's been playing pretty well, as in the game against Nashville Predators, he finished with an assist and a +2 and had a great game.

And in the game last night, against the Vegas Golden Knights, he had his first two-point night with a goal and an assist. Jones' goal even came in clutch with just over a minute to go in the second period and gave them the edge going into the third.

Granted, Seth has been good, but that's only a couple games out of a full season, and the fans are starting to show their displeasure about it. Jones hasn't been good.

That awful contract was the last «present» Stan Bowman gave Chicago.

Even if he starts to play well, the Blackhawks have to get rid of him ASAP, preferably when he looks to be turning a corner.

He's 30 and the rebuild is still young; they can't have him until the 2029-30 season. The higher his trade value goes up, the better, because he carries that $9.5 million price tag.
