According to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, the organization is extremely pleased on how Blackhawks prospect Frank Nazar has performed with the Rockford ice hogs.
Pope goes on to explain but the 20-year-old forward has eight goals and eight assists through 16 games it is unlikely to be called up by the Blackhawks anytime soon.
Many fans would love to see Nazar in a Blackhawks uniform but with the team constantly losing with no end in sight, the organization feels he would be better off to play on the top line of the ice hogs with top minutes and top power play time as he continues to develop and grow as a player.
This is a proper way to develop this kind of player as he will become a main piece of the Blackhawks offence within the next year or two.
It was also mentioned from Scott powers of the athletic that Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brossoit is still having issues with his right knee after undergoing surgery during the summer.
It appears the surgery has had lasting effects on his knee, and he has been unable to gear up and be ready for play as he is continuously shut down.
This has given Arvid Soderblom a great opportunity to show the Blackhawks what he has as a goaltender. One of the troubling aspects that the Blackhawks need to accept is that Soderblom is four games away from being waiver eligible which means he is not able to cross waivers without any issues.
Blackhawks will likely have to carry 3 goaltenders until the end of the year as it's highly likely a team will pluck Soderblom off the waiver wire.
The Blackhawks next game will be at home at the United Center against the Dallas Stars. Game time will be 8:30 PM eastern.
