We'd never thought there would be an issue of the Wirtz Family following in Rocky's footsteps to deliver the best product to the fans possible. But in 2025, here we are.
The Danny Wirtz-era of The Chicago Blackhawks started out with a bang, as they have begun a rebuild, and drafted Connor Bedard 1st overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.
But that isn't all, as the team has had multiple roadblocks along the way, with the CHSN debacle, and the firing of Luke Richardson, the future seems opaque.
Now fans, are voicing their displeasure of the way Danny Wirtz, and Jamie Faulkner are running the team.
It's been very disrespectful to the effort Rocky did to rebuild the team from a dumpster fire, into a dynasty.
Under the leadership of Rocky Wirtz, the team won three Stanley Cups and was at the top of the NHL during the 2010s.
Since his death, Danny has taken control of the ship and has had some wins but mostly is struggling to deal with the business, in terms of contracts with Comcast/Xfinity.
Along, with the fact the team was supposed to have improved this season, but could end up with another lottery pick in 2025.
That's a big yikes!
It's not hard to see that the vision Danny has is questionable, as they've been gifted a Winter Classic again and failed to capitalize on the marketability of the game themselves. Something Faulkner should've done better at.
In the meantime, Interim Coach Anders Sorensen and the Blackhawks march on with a 13-24-2 record.
They're still 8th in the Central Division.
But maybe, we could get James Hagens?
