The Red Wings and Blackhawks have always had great battles on the ice, and have a history as one of the oldest rivalries in the NHL.
You definitely will want to see the matchup between the two teams, as pre-season hockey kicks into gear.
But how will you watch the games?
The Blackhawks have given us an idea, as Chicago Sports Network steps into the fold, the team will be utilizing all avenues available to them.
The September 28th game, against the St. Louis Blues, will not be on the new network but instead will be on Blackhawks.com available to stream.
While we understand that things are in flux for the team, the whole way of catching all Blackhawks pre-season games should've been handled much, much better.
Much like the runaround NHL fans get from Gary Bettman, with multiple TV, streaming, and advertising deals this seems no different.
While ideally, the Blackhawks are using all avenues available to them, the fact that a Billion dollar sports club cannot find a way of standardizing viewing for their fans, is troubling.
We do have sympathy for the chaos of the pre-season, but long-term planning is just that.
What are the business plans long-term, if they can't even figure out to make it easier to watch a hockey game?
I sincerely think both the Blackhawks and Bettman should consider this question, as hockey fans want to be able to watch hockey games easier, and not have to rush to three different apps to view Connor Bedard or some of the newest Blackhawks draft picks to play hockey.
While the next three games after the 9/28 game will be on CHSN, it seems like Danny Wirtz, and the front office need to figure out one thing, make it easier to view the Hawks.
