One of the greatest basketball players of all time and one of the best NHL defensemen met shortly after Chelios was traded to the Blackhawks in 1990. During their first meeting at a White Sox game, they developed a friendship.
Jordan supported Chelios during his time with the Hawks and watched him play, and when Chelios returned in a Red Wings uniform in 1999 and was booed loudly, Jordan spent the rest of the game in a suite, hanging out with him. A sign of a strong friendship.
Michael Jordan is scheduled to be in attendance at Chris Chelios' Blackhawks jersey retirement ceremony Sunday, Chelios told @mullyhaugh.
