The Chicago Blackhawks have been blessed by their Stanley Cup-winning veterans, like Brent Seabrook even after they're gone. Have a look at the trade tree.

Brent Seabrook was one key player in the Chicago Blackhawks lineup who helped deliver three Stanley Cups to the Windy City.

Even after his retirement from the NHL, and his eventual trade to the Tampa Bay Lightning, fans should be appreciative of his return to his city, via trades that are considered some of the team's top prospects.

Those three players are Oliver Moore, Sascha Boisvert, and Marek Vanacker.

If you remember, Brent Seabrook's contract was sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning in return for Tyler Johnson, and a 2023 2nd-round pick.

Now Seabrook wasn't going to suit up for the Lightning, he played 1,114 games in the NHL and scored 464 points(103 G, 361 A) with a career +111.

So, the Cliff Notes: we can track back almost four years to the Seabrook trade with Tampa thru five subsequent trades to land at three of the top current Blackhawks prospects: Oliver Moore, Sacha Boisvert and Marek Vanacker.

Sascha Boisvert

The 51st overall pick received in the trade was flipped to Philadelphia for the 54th overall in 2024 in the 2nd round and 6th round pick 167th overall on May 21st, 2024.

This wouldn't be the only swap GM Kyle Davidson would use, as he'd pair the 2024 1st round pick 20th overall, plus the 54th and 61st overall picks in the 2024 Draft, to acquire the 18th overall pick in 2024 Draft + the 50th OA pick in 2024 from the New York Islanders.

The 18th overall pick in 2024 would become forward Sascha Boisvert, one of the team's top prospects now in the NCAA.

Brandon Hagel and Marek Vanacker

Brand Hagel's trade On March 18th, 2022 would become entangled in all this so stick with us while we peel the onion further behind the trade tree.

Hagel would be sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning with multiple 4th-round picks in the 2022 NHL Draft. In return, the Blackhawks would receive Taylor Raddysh, and Boris Katchouk, for a 2023 1st-round pick(19th Overall) and a 2024 1st-round pick(20th overall) which was used to acquire the pick to select Sascha Boisvert.

The Blackhawks would send two 2024 2nd-round picks( 34+50), the 50th acquired from the New York Islanders, to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 1st-round pick in 2024(27th Overall) which would become Marek Vanacker.

Oliver Moore

The 1st-round pick in 2023(19th overall) which was acquired from Tampa Bay from the Brandon Hagel trade would be used to secure University of Minnesota center, Oliver Moore.

As we all know, is one of the Blackhawks' best prospects aside from Frank Nazar, and Sascha Boisvert.

Moore is currently playing in the 2025 WJC with Team USA.

While the trade-tree here is astounding, it is a masterclass in deal-making by current GM Kyle Davidson.
