The Chicago Blackhawks faced the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, and things started off right; a 2-0 lead for the Blackhawks resulted in a 4-3 loss, what happened?

The Chicago Blackhawks had a severe breakdown as fans are now starting to realize is an every-game thing.

Blackhawks fans were quick to boo former forward Corey Perry as he took the ice in warmups.

But were quickly silenced when Perry would score the game-tying goal for the Oilers third of the night, late in the second period at 2:30 remaining.

Veteran defenseman Alec Martinez called out his teammates for their breakdown, and explained that this team must play a full 60-minute game.

We got away from our game,» Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez said. «Obviously against a team like that, you've got to play a full 60 (minutes). They went to the (Stanley Cup) Final for a reason. Two of the top players in the world (Draisaitl and Connor McDavid). We got away from what made us successful in the first period. You give a team like that opportunities, they're going to capitalize.»

Blackhawks head coach Anders Sorensen announced several lineup changes prior to puck drop, including the removal of Philipp Kurashev from the lineup, after his lackluster effort vs Patrick Kane's Red Wings on Friday, went viral on social media.

Those lineup changes did not affect the product that the Blackhawks displayed on the ice, and neither did Anders Sorensen's post-game comments.

«They pushed us back,» said Blackhawks interim coach Anders Sorensen. «We were on our heels a little bit. They're a good team, so they're coming at us in waves, and we had a hard time kind of stopping that. We got out of it.»

Sorensen's lack of personality and frustration has shown, he seems to be coasting through losses and not holding anyone accountable to the media in regards to the loss.

This is being striked as concerning on Sorensen's part, as Blackhawks fans experienced the same lack of accountability with head coach Luke Richardson during this tenure with the organization.

The Blackhawks need to find a new coach, and they may have already found their guy, according to several reports.
