The Chicago Blackhawks had a special guest tonight at the United Center, as a two-time Stanley Cup winning stopped by the game tonight.

The Blackhawks hosted Corey Crawford, as the rivalry he helped ignite in 2013, during the season their Hawks won the Stanley Cup.

This was the 2nd Stanley Cup during the Blackhawks dynasty, but Crawford's first.

Crawford led the Hawks to the 2013, and 2015 Championship seasons. So his presence tonight should be appreciated.

The Blackhawks-Wild rivalry started when the two teams met in the 2013 Western Conference quarterfinals. The Blackhawks won in five games in that series en route to their fifth Stanley Cup.

The Blackhawks and Wild have met in the playoffs three times, with the Blackhawks winning each series:
2013: Blackhawks won 4-1 in the first round
2014: Blackhawks defeated the Wild in the Conference Semifinals 4-2
2015: Blackhawks defeated the Wild 4-0 in the Conference Semifinals

This will give you a broader context of the relationship between the two clubs, which has seen the Blackhawks stay consistent against the Wild.

Crawford had his jersey retired in Rockford, on February 10th, 2024 last season.

«It taught me things, patience to perseverance. You know, not giving up. There's a lot a lot of qualities that I've learned and picked up while I was here. You know, that helped me along the way.»

Crawford played a total of 488 games in the NHL, with a career 2.45 GAA, and a .918 save percentage.

Two-time Stanley Cup winner and legend in Chicago.
