This rollout has gone extremely poor as it appears that these two ownership groups have no idea on how to roll out a streaming service. The Windy City and area have been living under this awful scenario after NBC Chicago Sports decided to pull its regional coverage from all professional sports teams in the area.
This left many fans high and dry as they scrambled to find ways to watch the Blackhawks, the bulls and the White Sox. Both the Wirtz Group and Bulls and White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf decided to make this network happen, but it's clearly blown up in their faces.
The fact that the network is asking for money to subscribe to the app and then is asking to subscribe again is just the latest of a series of blunders including equipment trouble for many Chicago area fans who cannot see the games and blackouts that have been plaguing the area that have prevented them seeing Connor Bedard and the revamped Blackhawks.
If both ownership groups want to see this turn around and change the narrative and overall opinion, they will first need a carriage agreement from Comcast and other major carriers of television who will help push out this product and get it to more televisions and other devices.
As far as I'm concerned, the ownership groups should scrap any cost towards the fan base and offer the service for free for one year just to get the membership up and work out any other issues that will continue to plague them. Once everything is ironed out and running smoothly then you slowly bring in a cost.
