In a recent update, CHSN president Jason Coyle revealed that Comcast refuses to negotiate with the new network over a carriage agreement.

Coyle explained with several reporters that the Sports Network has made two offers to Comcast and Xfinity then have not received any offers in return. The president even explains that his network would be willing to take a significant fee reduction compared to what Comcast paid NBC but this has not changed their stance.

«We are willing, in order to ensure more people can watch, to take less money,» Coyle said. «They've given us zero offers to say yes' to.»

The growing debacle has been a thorn in Blackhawks and soon to be Chicago Bulls fans sides as the network continues to struggle to send out its reach to its fanbases and continues to have technological challenges as many TV owners do not own the equipment to reach the network which has been over the air antennas.
In brighter news, CHSN revealed they're close to landing a deal with Fubo which is a streaming service on the web.

Coyle also explains at the company has built a direct-to-consumer app which may be the largest hurdle that is blocking a Comcast CHSN deal as this encourages people to cut their cords to their cable television and only use an app-based program.

«This is a significant potential partnership and one that our fans and their customers do want,» Coyle said. «We did not want to miss any of the games, and we don't want to miss any further games, but we're trying to look at this longer term as we reset and expand this reach. [Comcast is] a core part of it.»

Coyle appears to be ready to strike a deal with Comcast and is eagerly waiting for the network to respond to his requests and agreements.

«I don't know that we're ready to draw a line in the sand,» Coyle said. «I'd love to just see where they are. We are ready to move fast. We are already out there at a significant discount. We are not being greedy. We just want to give the fans the games that they want, and we don't want them to have to pay more than they used to, and we don't want them to have less access than they used to.»

It's becoming clear that the Blackhawks organization along with chairman Danny Wirtz is very disappointed on how this has rolled out and understands that this will impact their bottom line when it comes to ticket sales and to merchandise sales.

He also understands that it's impacting his fan base as they're finding it increasingly difficult to watch their games.

Here's hoping that a solution can be found as soon as possible.
